Sobre o Evento
The Mitral valve and Tricuspid valve course is an innovative course in cardiology, with training sessions on state-of-the-art simulators.
It is a clinically focused course whose main practical objective is the standardized echocardiographic assessment of patients, through training on advanced echocardiography simulators (2D and 3D), transthoracic and transesophageal.
The aim of this training is to raise awareness of timely diagnosis and possible valve intervention and, above all, to standardize echocardiographic assessment as a means of facilitating communication between clinical cardiologists, imaging and interventional cardiologists and cardiac surgeons.
The theoretical and practical sessions of the course “Mitral valve and tricuspid valve - From anatomy to intervention” take place alternately.
Participants have the opportunity to train on normal and pathological anatomical models of valvular heart disease.
They go through successive hands-on stations, from anatomy to the most sophisticated beating-heart station, including dedicated simulators and echocardiographs with human models.
Both the anatomy station and the beating heart station set up what in simulation is known as a “wet-lab” - in which pig hearts are used, with the aim of both recognizing the valvular anatomy in detail and training in optimizing the appropriate settings and projections for 2D and 3D transesophageal echocardiography
