About this event
The advances in Medicine have one of their greatest exponents in cardiovascular sciences, namely in non-invasive imaging methods.
Thus, in recent years, there has been a rapid and consistent development of different new non-invasive imaging methods in cardiology. Until now cardiovascular imaging tests were essentially based on conventional ultrasonic and nuclear methods, but today the situation is different.
The choice of each test should be based on the knowledge of what it can provide, its advantages and disadvantages, in terms of information, diagnostic capacity, reproducibility, safety and impact on clinical evolution. To achieve this goal, collaboration between different image subspecialties must be encouraged, specifically in the development of guidelines and joint action protocols, bearing in mind that the different methods are complementary and not competitive, being incorrect to talk of “winners” and “losers” in cardiovascular imaging.
Given this scenario, what is the role of echocardiography in 2021, in the era of multimodality imaging? Has this technique, the classic first-line imaging exam in cardiology, been overtaken by the new imaging methods and has become obsolete?
Or is the technological advances in this technique ("advanced echocardiography") keep it in the spotlight, with advantages over other techniques
Webinar Attendees
Phisicians and Residents of:
- Cardiology,
- Internal medicine,
- Anesthesiology,
- Intensive Care Medicine
- Imaging
- Cardiopneumology, Imaging and Nuclear Cardiology Technicians
Workshop attendees
Residents of:
- Cardiology
- Internal Medicine
- Anesthesiology,
- Intensive Care Medicine
Webinar Goals:
At the end of the course, trainees should be able to understand that “advanced echocardiography” (transesophageal echocardiography, stress echocardiography and myocardial deformation) remain on the “crest of the wave”, often with advantages over other techniques, remaining a first-line exam in cardiovascular pathology.
Workshop Goals:
At the end of the course, trainees should have acquired practical training and skills in performing advanced echocardiography techniques.
