Sobre o Evento
The Innovation in Health Care Marathon is a collaborative effort between Hospital da Luz Learning Health, Faculdade de Ciências and IDMEC/ Instituto Superior Técnico to bring together physicians, data scientists and grad students from Copenhagen Business School’s MSc program on Innovation on Health Care.
For four weeks these professionals will work in a multi-disciplinary and multi-national environment in order to solve specific “challenges and needs posed by an ageing population, particularly the substantially increase in the use of health care services (EIT Health).”
This marathon-style workshop will use a variety of pedagogical methods to develop students’ practical skills, including lectures/discussions, case studies, data analysis, guests presentations and weekly student in-class presentation on results obtained for that week specific assignment.
Objectives
According to EIT Health directives the workshop is designed to help students practice the following skills:
- To apply financial analysis tools and techniques to health care systems and services and evaluate their financial sustainability.
- To critically and creatively assess investment projects in the health sector, both from the point of view of the government, and from the perspective of the private firm.
- To apply quantitative metrics to decisions in the health care management.
- To develop innovative solutions to issues posed by health care organization

To be familiarized with hospital's rules on the use of antibiotics and will apply finantial analysis tools and techniques to evaluate its finantial sustainability; Experience a Public-Private Partnership environment and its challenge.
WEEK 2 - Tem de escolher 1 opções
Hospital da Luz Lisboa — Casas da Cidade, piso 3 - apt 301
Will be given access to anonymized patient data from Hospital Beatriz ângelo and Hospital da Luz Lisboa; Use different programing languages to analyze the data in order to answer clinical research questions related to the Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit.

Introduction to 3 different start-ups and their product. A problem-based study will follow with the goal of creating a business model for these products.
